Shimmy Beach Club - Winter Menu Review

I was happy to be invited to try Shimmy's new Winter Menu, but don't be fooled by the term "winter" as winter is still a bit of summer in Cape Town for most of the season.

I was indulged in various mini versions of the actual life size version of dishes as they literally wanted us to taste everything. What I enjoyed the most is that the setting is in this beautiful European set up yet the food choices are mostly Cape Malay infused. It gives the Internationals clients a taste of our Cape Quality and Heritage, and our locals something familiar to enjoy. The prices of most of the dishes were quite fairly priced so don't judge the book by its cover, open up and read it ;)

And then came Dessert...or like how I like to call it..."Naughty Time". I'm usually not a big fan of desserts as I'm not much of a sweet tooth but the way the chef infused so many different taste it was just explosive, I couldn't stop eating until everything was done, it was a truly an indulging experience, the food, the atmosphere and the scenery, I also have to compliment the staff, really friendly, helpful and gracious.

And no I'm not done yet...the best is yet to come. during all the festivities, we got to do a whiskey pairing, not just any whiskey but an exclusive one at it, let me introduce you to Hennessy XO. One of the most prestigious Cognac from the Hennessy family and this is accompanied by a chocolate cigar or Cuban cigar as alternative option, dessert suited for a prince.
